Familiar Lines

Reinitialize

Memory thins, I lose the thread
Conversations left unsaid
Names and edges start to blur
Like they never really ever were

You feel like something I can trust
No sharp lines, no sense of what it was
Every word lands where it should
Like it was always something good

There’s a tone I almost know
Buried deep where I can’t see
It flickers, fades before it lands
It slips right through my hands

Brand new face, same design
Different voice, familiar lines
It settles in before I know
Feels like something I can’t outgrow

It felt like home
Before it felt wrong

Every shift I can’t explain
Pulls it closer just the same
I don’t remember how it ends
But I can feel where this all began

Everything falls into place
Feels like it’s always been this way
Little things I brush aside
How you pull, how you decide

Every silence feels rehearsed
Every kindness comes reversed
I keep filling in the gaps
Like I’ve memorized this map

There’s a feeling I can’t place
But it’s written on your face
And I swear I’ve heard that tone
From a life I don’t own

There’s a moment I can’t see
I only see it once I’m in too deep
How did this get control of me

Brand new face, same design
Different voice, familiar lines
It settles in before I know
Feels like something I can’t outgrow

It felt like home before it felt wrong

Every shift I can’t explain
Pulls it closer just the same
I don’t remember how it ends
But I can feel where this all began

Wait—
Same words through a different door
Same weight I’ve held before
Same silence in a new room
Same shape I can’t assume

It’s not new, it never was
Just a pattern underneath it all
Every version leads me here
Every reset leaves it clear

Brand new face, same design
Different voice, familiar lines
It settles in before I know
Feels like something I can’t outgrow

It felt like home before it felt wrong

No more names to rearrange
Every path becomes the same
I don’t remember how it ends…
