She bloomed
The skin so soft under my touch
Like the petal of a rose
Red blossoming away from the spot
Veins like ridges as blood coursed through
The scent of her flooded my senses
I ran my fingers along her arm
I nudged my nose against her cheek
She sighed, heavy
Breath exhaled in a mist
My lips glanced against hers
Lightly
Gently
Her chest heaved in the moonlight
Her lashes fluttered
Like butterfly wings
Yet beneath this fairy tale beauty
I knew she hid her truth
Her eyes glowed with an aura of innocence
But behind the iridescent iris
She hid
She cowered
Waiting to thrust her thorns into my skin
Waiting to emerge from her guise
And unfurl her deception
I knew
But I was drawn
It was a beauty and a beast
It was a truth cocooned in a lie
It was the only way to feel alive
